We're an Auckland production company that believes a party should be built with the same care as a stage show — because it is one.
From one garage disco to fifty-seven productions
Night of Events started in 2021 with thirty friends, a rented smoke machine and a garage in Mount Eden dressed as a 1984 discotheque. The plan was one party. The group chat had other ideas.
Five years later we've produced fifty-seven events for more than eighteen thousand guests: italo disco nights in wharf sheds, Berlin-style warehouse sessions, rooftop sundowners, dress-up balls with live musicians — and, on the other side of the house, elegant casino-themed evenings for corporate and private clients, run with symbolic scoring and zero real-money play.
The thing that hasn't changed: we build nights we'd want to attend. Every queue, every playlist minute, every light cue gets designed. If a detail would annoy us as guests, it doesn't ship.
Five years, briefly
Thirty friends, one garage, one smoke machine. The first disco happens; the neighbours ask for invites instead of complaining.
First public venue. The parties go seasonal, the first dress-up ball runs on a shoestring, and the crew grows to five.
Night of Events Ltd is registered. A client asks if we can "do something elegant for a company party" — the first casino-themed evening is produced, symbolic scoring and all.
Neon Berlin debuts and sells out in nine days. Venue partnerships hit double digits; the lighting rig stops fitting in one van.
Ten thousandth guest walks through the doors at the Winter Lights Ball. The team-building casino format becomes our most requested corporate product.
Season five: six parties on the calendar, fourteen partner venues, and Cherry Lady Night on track to be the biggest yet.
Core crew
Four full-timers, plus a trained pool of hosts, technicians and door staff who scale each production up to size.
Tama Ngata
Threw the garage disco, still writes every event timeline personally. Owns more sequinned jackets than is strictly legal.
Ruby Calloway
Sound, lighting, staging and the load-in schedule. If a night looks effortless, that's Ruby's fingerprints on it.
Jordan Whitfield
Books the selectors, edits the live arrangements and guards the no-wedding-playlist rule with their life. Vinyl first, always.
Priya Sharma
Venues, corporate clients and the casino-events calendar. The person who answers your quote request — usually within the hour.
